Active Travel
There is so much to enjoy right on your doorstep at Treledan and even better, you don’t have to use your car to get there.
How to get around by Walking
Walking is not only quick and easy, it saves you money, helps keep you fit and healthy and it’s also great for the environment. Avoid the hassle of finding a parking space in town. Around two and a half kilometres away, you can easily walk or cycle from your new house to the Town Centre.
Why not get out and about, and try out the network of public footpaths, bridleways which surround Treledan. Check out Cornwall Council's public rights of way mapping page for details.
How to get around by Cycling
We are rather keen on our bikes here in Treledan, so much so that we want everyone to join us.
To encourage you to give cycling a go, as Treledan expands, we will be setting up a Bicycle User Group so you can learn to repair and maintain your bikes and meet like-minded enthusiastic people. Just get in touch with your Travel Plan Co-ordinator for more details.
But I don’t know where the cycle paths are! There are lots of on-road and off-road cycle paths and lanes around Treledan and Cornwall Council have produced an active travel map of Saltash showing these along with other advisory cycling routes to get all around town and even over the Tamar. Check out the active travel map.
But I haven’t been on a bike in years! Cycle training is a great way of building confidence on a bike in a controlled environment. Whether you’re learning to ride for the first time, developing your balance and control or enhancing you on-road skills the ‘Cornwall Bicycle Project’ is a community led scheme which offers an exciting programme of social rides and confidence booster sessions for a small annual membership fee. Take a look at the Cornwall Bicycle Project for all the details on how to sign up.
